Our students here at the Portland Academy, visit CA as often as possible and we try and bring Tim up for seminars and intensive work multiple times throughout the year.

Tim Cartmell began his martial arts training with the Chinese styles in 1972. Tim trained to the level of eight-degree black belt in Kung Fu San Soo, and then moved to the Republic of China where he lived and studied martial arts full time for 11 years.

Tim is an Asian Full-Contact fighting champion, a Submission Grappling champion, a two time Pan American Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champion at the brown and black belt level and seven time winner of the Copa Pacifica de Jiu Jitsu. Cartmell received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2003.
